Glossary
Before Basic was introduced to Huk, Yam`rii tribes used their own language. Lacking the vocal capacity to create some sounds (such as "puh", "muh" and "buh"- due to having no lips), the ancient Yam`rii language translated very poorly to Basic when it was introduced. The following list is a rudimentary translation of several terms into Basic.
-ish - (noun suffix) - spirit of, favored of, touched by. Suffix added to emphasize competence in a specific area. Beings who show considerable talent in a specific area of study are typically given this title.
Anek - (noun) - dancer, one who dances
Aneki - (verb) - to dance
Aza - (noun) - pain, discomfort, suffering
Azai - (verb) - to be in pain or discomfort
Chada - (noun) - Season, referring to the four seasons of Huk- Birth, Life, Death and Void.
Chayich - (noun) - a tree
Eez - (noun, adjective) - a shadow, dark area, poorly lit
Eez`Inock - (noun) - Truthstone, "Finder of Shadow". A chemical mixture created from the remains of lower life forms. Used to detect midichlorians in others.
Etzil - (noun) - mover, one who moves objects, moves property belonging to others
Etzili - (verb)- to move, to relocate
Hich - (noun) - dirt, clay, sand or rock.
Inock - (noun) - person who discovers or finds
Inocki - (verb) - to discover, make known, find
Kiitchich - (noun) - Primary deity of the Zeet-ish`Tchizik religion. A genderless Yam`rii shown with varying degrees of body parts.
Laaziz - (noun) - Cannibal, one who eats their own
Laazizi - (verb) - to cannibalize
Shinch - (noun) - large depression in the ground, such as a sinkhole, caldera. inactive volcano
Suhgis - (noun) - watcher, onlooker, observer
Suhgisi - (verb) - to watch, to observe
Tchizik - (noun) Hunter, one who hunts.
Tchiziki - (verb) - To hunt, to stalk, to follow.
Ticha-Tishaga - (noun) - a Rancor
Tzayal - (adjective) - Hidden, unseen
Tzayali - (verb) - to hide, obscure, deceive
Tzayos - (adjective) - fallen, felled, laying on the ground, dead
Tzayosi - (verb) - to fall, hit the ground, to die
Zeet-ish - (noun) - An individual imbued with extraordinary abilities, typically referring to users of the Force.
Zeetchich - (noun) - The god of Time (also referred to as The Eyeless, Disease,or Deceiver) of the Zeet-ish`Tchizik. Depicted as a large monocular jellyfish. Post-creation depictions show the eye missing, and often have the tentacles pointed upward (to show blindness). Zeetchich is referenced to as a male, perhaps to label him as the aggressor in the cosmic struggle.
